Statue - Nakoma Gold
This gold Nakoma statue showcases a stunning curvilinear design, featuring a continuous circular form along its back, a rounded head, and a circular bowl in hand. The central figure carries an infant, while a child stands beside her, symbolizing themes of family and unity.
Originally envisioned by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1923, the Nakoma Golf Club was designed as a country club in Madison, Wisconsin. Wright’s concept included two sculptural figures intended to flank the club’s entrance.
Following Wright’s passing, the Nakoma sculpture was brought to life in 2001 by Taliesin Architects for a client in Clio, California, honoring Wright’s design in a new setting.
