The Nakoma sculpture is a curvilinear design, symbolic of the earth and Mother Nature as well as domestic virtue. Her back is a continuous circle, with a round head and holds a round bowl. She also carries an infant and has a child at her side.
The American Indian tipi inspired design of the Nakoma Golf Club was originally created by Wright in 1923 for a country club planned on Winnebago ceremonial campgrounds in Madison, Wisconsin. Two sculptural figures were to stand in large circular shallow basins of water at the entrance to the Nakoma Country Club.

When it was actually constructed after Wright's death in 2001 by the Taliesin Architects, it was for a different client in Clio, California.
Approx. Dimensions: 5 1/2" x 4" x 11"
