Socks - Hoffman House Rug

Max Hoffman was a European automobile importer for whom Wright designed a house
and a building for his Jaguar dealership in New York City. The carpet design proposed
for the living room of the Hoffman home featuring floating, intersecting circles with
square accents, creating a cheerful atmosphere. Although the rug was not executed for that home, after Wright’s death, it was woven and used in his own living room at Taliesin, Spring Green, Wisconsin
