Plaque - Sincerity, Humility, Courage

In 1903, the Larkin Building was built to serve as the administrative headquarters for the Larkin Company’s burgeoning mail-order soap business, in Buffalo, New York. At the heart of its cream brick interior, a 76-foot tall sky-lit courtyard ringed with inscriptions extolling the virtue of labor, provided an almost ecclesiastical light from above. Despite its demolition in 1950, it remains a modern icon of twentieth century building.

This cast stone Sincerity, Humility, Courage Plaque mimics the inscriptions found in the courtyard of the building.
