This book focuses on the role that Frank Lloyd Wright’s studio residences in Spring Green, Wisconsin, and Scottsdale, Arizona—famously known as Taliesin and Taliesin West—played as incubators of Wright’s interior design. Modern Chair Design traces Wright’s approach to furniture as it emerged from the drafting studios at Taliesin, where he used the private spaces of his home as a “laboratory” for experiments that eventually found their way into client commissions.
