Flower in the Crannied Wall was initially designed in terracotta for the Susan Lawrence Dana House in Springfield, Illinois by Wright and sculptor Richard Bock. A plaster cast was made around 1908 for an exhibition then brought to Taliesin in 1911. Today, the sculpture stands above Wright's desk in the Taliesin Drafting Studio, while a weatherproof replica graces the Garden Court.
